                                                                                              BIOGRAPHY 

          

     Mark Wessel, a California native earned Bachelor or Arts in English Literature from UCLA in 1979 and BFA and MFA degrees from the University of Utah in 1990 and 1995, where his emphasis was first in sculpture, then in painting and drawing. He taught at the University of Utah, Salt Lake Community College and established the art program at the Oakley School in Oakley, Utah. In 1995 Wessel was accepted to live and work at Artspace, a highly respected nonprofit facility in the downtown area of Salt Lake City, serving as an opportunity for the continued development of professional artists and for their regular interaction with other members of the creative community. He returned to Southern California in 2000 is currently serving as adjunct faculty member at Citrus and Glendale Colleges, teaching classes in Drawing, Figure Drawing, Two and three Dimensional Design and Color Theory.
